On 8 November 2025, an Anganwadi centre located in Kaveri Nagar (KSDB), Laggere, Bengaluru, was renovated and relaunched to improve early childhood care and education infrastructure for children from economically vulnerable families. The existing facility was operating in a deteriorated condition, with inadequate classroom space, poor ventilation, limited sanitation facilities, and insufficient learning materials, which directly impacted the quality of early childhood development services being delivered.
The renovation was undertaken in collaboration with Parinaam Foundation, focusing on transforming the centre into a safe, hygienic, and child-friendly learning environment. Structural repairs were carried out to strengthen walls and flooring, damaged sections were restored, and the entire centre was repainted using bright, child-friendly colours and educational wall art to create an engaging atmosphere. Improvements were made to lighting and ventilation to ensure a healthier indoor environment.
Sanitation facilities were upgraded to meet hygiene standards, and safe storage units were installed for food supplies and learning materials. Age-appropriate educational kits, play materials, activity charts, and foundational learning tools were distributed to support cognitive, motor, and social development among children aged 3–6 years. The centre was also equipped with improved seating arrangements and organized classroom layouts to encourage structured learning sessions.
Community members and local stakeholders were involved throughout the renovation process to build ownership and ensure long-term sustainability of the facility. The relaunch event marked a renewed commitment to strengthening early childhood education access in Laggere, reinforcing the importance of safe infrastructure in shaping foundational learning outcomes.
By upgrading the Anganwadi centre in Kaveri Nagar, this initiative not only improved physical infrastructure but also enhanced the quality of early childhood education and nutrition support services provided to the community.
